Benjamin Francis Leftwich
This delicate, yet upbeat track just released from UK songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich is reminiscent of Alexi Murdoch’s Orange Sky. Its a gently almost whispered sung song that’s heartfelt and warm. The balance of his guitar, his soft
Nikki Lane
Nikki Lane – Sleep For You The recently released album of Nashville-based singer-songwriter, Nikki Lane, really snuck up on me. Its short, 32 minutes or so, but it comes with such a great package in its ability to mix elements of country-pop with 60’s girl group styles.
Big Harp
Big Harp – Everybody Pays This is the second cut from husband and wife duo Big Harp off their recently released album, White Hat. Senseney’s baritone vocals fill this song with a rich feel, and feels really genuine. The delicate strumming really contrasts well with his voice, and creates a

Brown Shoe
Brown Shoe – Diving Bell Second single, off Brown Shoe’s upcoming album, The Gift Horse, is an emotional whirlwind song that sets a great atmosphere for a huge progression in their sound. The repetitive strumming and percussion with the constant layering lead to a huge buildup on a song that
Leslie Sisson
Austin/Brooklyn-ite, Leslie Sisson, is the lead female vocalist and guitarist in The Wooden Birds. Leslie’s voice is something to behold, its quite striking, but can be subdued and relaxed without losing any impact. Recently she recorded her debut solo record, Harmony. This is the first cut I’
Radio Moscow
Radio Moscow – Speedfreak Check out the second cut from Radio Moscow’s new album, THE GREAT ESCAPE OF LESLIE MAGNAFUZZ. As usual its a psych rock exploration of Parker Griggs’ amazing guitar skills. The fuzzy, screeching, hard rock is so well done, and these guys are really putting out some
Sandman Viper Command
Sandman Viper Command – Strawberry Quick Check out this track “Strawberry Quick,” from Ontario, Canada’s Sandman Viper Command (one of the coolest band names around!). The Canadian indie-rock scene is really blossoming with bands like Holy Fuck & Rural Alberta Advantage, and it seems as though SVC wants to
