Of Montreal’s new album, False Priest is quickly coming up. Their new single, Coquet Coquette, is featured in the video above. The video seems as though it would fit somewhere in the middle of 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s violent, cannibalistic and totally wild. Check out the video, and preorder False Priest here.

My friend Andrew brought this to my attention, it’s a fantastic cover of one of my favorite Band of Horses songs.
For the right reasons, I’ve also included the original after the break.

Leave a CommentComing from Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption soundtrack, Jose Gonzalez really pumps up the gloom and doom on his song Far Away. As usual, it’s a beautiful song, and his voice lends itself perfectly to the lonely emotion the game promotes. Gonzalez will be here in Boston with his band Junip, November 2nd at the Royale Nightclub, Boston, MA
Leave a CommentTired Pony, if you haven’t heard of it, is a side project from Peter Buck from REM, Richard Colburn from Belle & Sebastian, Gary Lightbody and Iain Archer from Snow Patrol, Garret Lee, Scott McCaughey and Troy Stewart. The band also features some back up from M. Ward, Tom Smith, and Zooey Deschanel. So immediately, this is some kind of superband. Their forthcoming album, The Place We Ran From, has been released in the UK, and releases to the US on September 28th. You can pre order The Place We Ran From from Amazon now. Look for a US tour…
Leave a CommentI’ve posted a video of Chief here before, and actually posted this same song. But this one stands out, it’s an acoustic performance in London. The performance is hypnotizing, its a really great song, and sounds so fantastic.
