# New Music | Beth Orton - 1973

Not only do we have a new single from Beth Orton’s highly anticipated album, *Kidsticks*, we also received word that she will tour here in the states immediately following the release, with a stop here in Boston on June 15th, which is all kinds of exciting. I had hoped to hear news of a Newport appearance but I will take what I can get as it has been a minute since she’s been in our part of the world.

The second track is titled, “1973,” and it’s full of sparkly, synth-dance, goodness that will fit perfectly in that upcoming summertime playlist of yours. In fact, *Kidsticks*, is Orton’s first album built entirely around synthesizers rather than guitar, although this isn’t her first rodeo when it comes to making beats in lieu of plucking strings.
