\[W\]hy Cory Branan hasn’t hit it big I’m not really sure, the guy writes fantastic songs, a lot of them are damn catchy and I love most everything I’ve heard from him. I suspect he’s going to catch on more and more, especially with this newest tune, the No Hit Wonder, which may also be a 3rd person perspective on himself, but he collaborated with Craig Finn and Steve Selvidge of the Hold Steady on this one, and I haven’t been able to stop hitting play again. The pounding drums, the driving guitars, and Branan’s regular guy country voice that hits just right for a tune about a journeyman musician trying to find his niche and getting kicked to the dirt over and over again.

Look for [The No Hit Wonder](https://www.bloodshotrecords.com/album/no-hit-wonder?ref=musicsavage.com) (only 13.95 on vinyl if you preorder) to appear on a record with the same title, come August 19 on Bloodshot Records. And while you are waiting, grab his critically acclaimed album MUTT, a big time favorite in my record player.
