# New Music | Fort Frances - The Lowlands

Check out this new track from Chicago folk three piece Fort Frances. Maybe you missed it, but I posted on their absolutely gorgeous video and song “[Cities in Dust](http://www.musicsavage.com/2011/04/the-fort-frances-cities-in-dust/ "Video | The Fort Frances – Cities in Dust").” At the time, they were giving away their album *The Atlas* (one which I enjoyed quite a bit), and today they are releasing a brand new track titled “Lowlands,” an ambling acoustic ballad. Their music is a healthy dose of folk/acoustic and singer David McMillin’s voice is perfect for the poignancy of this song. The stripped down nature of the song makes it feel all that more desolate, like a gray day that seems to go by really slowly.

Hopefully the release of this track is the hint at a full album.
