New Music | Steel Phantoms - Forer EP
Steel Phantoms is a Brooklyn based rock band started by longtime friends Aaron Harris (formerly of Islands) and Yos Munro. Months ago, I had received their original EP and couldn’t get enough of it. Last week, they released their next EP (Forer EP) I got the chance to listen to their EP (available on their bandcamp) and no doubt its even better than the last. The EP was recorded in a converted home / studio in Hartford CT. With influences from XTC the Cure & the Smiths this little gem of an EP has a new wave flavor, thats extremely catchy and danceable. The pounding drums, keyboard melodies that retain the vigor and irreverence of new wave and still feels really fresh.
