The latest WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight shines brightly on the beautiful new single, “Get Well Soon,” from Oakland-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Taylor Vick’s project Boy Scouts. The song is off her upcoming album, *Free Company,* out August 30th via Anti-.

“Get Well Soon” takes on the difficulty of comforting a loved one during a rough time and sadly realizing that the person you want so desperately to protect isn’t taking the necessary steps to help themselves. When asked on the subject matter of the personal song Vick said “It’s a hard thing to say. You’re hoping somebody will eventually feel better, but there’s also this weird new distance between you. You can’t do anything else, but you still really hope that they’re OK”

The song is a beautiful gift created to mend the hearts of both the writer and the listener. When a songwriter reaches down deep to find the right words to say to someone they hold dear, and then shares those words with the world, the outcome is always special.

A fall tour will bring Boy Scouts here in our area October 26th for a show at The Sinclair in Cambridge with Jay Som. Add this one to your calendar and highlight it!
