Mixtape | March 2017

Another great month of music, almost too much of it, to keep the format of 40 songs from the month I ended up pulling a few favorites. 2014 | Kyle’s Record Recommends Day 1

It’s the end of the year and it’s time to wrap up everything we loved, and this year I’d like to make this a buyers recommendation for records this year. At this point in my life, these are all records I think you should drop $20 on and spin the vinyl like there is no tomorrow. [W]hy Cory Branan hasn’t hit it big I’m not really sure, the guy writes fantastic songs, a lot of them are damn catchy and I love most everything I’ve heard from him. I suspect he’s going to catch on more and more, especially with this newest tune, the No Hit Wonder, which may also be a 3rd person perspective on himself, but he collaborated with Craig Finn and Steve Selvidge of the Hold Steady on this one, and I haven’t been able to stop hitting play again. The pounding drums, the driving guitars, and Branan’s regular guy country voice that…
