New Music | Islands – Back Into It, Charm Offensive

Islands will return this spring with new music, with not one but two new albums (remember when Guns N’ Roses did this with the Use Your Illusion Series?), all dropping on the same day. The two forthcoming albums, Taste and Should I remain Here At Sea? will be available May 13. They’ve also released two new songs from those albums, the first being “Back Into It,” a sugary sweet pop song reminiscent of the Unicorns’ catalog, and “Charm Offensive,” a polished, synthy affair that’s got that specific Island charm and quirk that’s just right. Stream | Islands – A Sleep & A Forgetting

The follow-up to Islands’ Vapours is finally upon us (street date 2/14) and luckily the guys at ANTI records have allowed the album up for streaming, so we can get an early taste of what Thorburn and the rest of Islands have been up to. The stripped down, confessional art-pop continues here, and sounds so damn fantastic. I’ve recently become a fan of these guys, and I’m digging this new album. Give it a listen.
