After an amazing 14 year run which produced 6 highly praised studio albums, giving us countless fuzzy guitar infused blues rock, they called it quits in 2011 leaving fans everywhere crushed. Jack White has added his musical one-two punch to many a band over the years but nothing came close to the energy that the Stripes produced in their time together. Almost a year to the date Jack White releases his first solo album, “Blunderbuss.” And it appears he has returned to form.…

Wanda Jackson and Jack White – Thunder on the Mountain

Jack White may be the most prolific artist out there today, and yet another fantastic cover comes out with his name on it.  He lent his talents to Wanda Jackson in this cover of Dylan’s Thunder on the Mountain.  What’s even better?  The whole thing was Dylan’s idea.  “Jack wanted me to do a Bob song,” Jackson tells Spinner. “They’re longstanding friends and Bob suggested ‘Thunder on the Mountain.’” ‘The Party Ain’t Over’ will be out Jan. 25 via White’s Third Man Records. http://www.wandajackson.com/

Jack White – Big River (Johnny Cash Cover) by musicsavage This Secret Sisters’ Cover of Johnny Cash’s Big River might just be one of the most rollicking and wild covers I’ve heard in a long while.  Big ups to Jack White’s bluesy riffs and frenetic soloing.  This is such a good time, you have to listen to it.  More than once.
