Video | Kingsley Flood – I Don’t Wanna Go Home

Can you imagine the dusty, americana rock band, Kingsley Flood, as cute and cuddly bears? Yeah, I can too. But now we don’t have to imagine, because in the hilarious video for their standout track ‘I don’t wanna go home’ the band features a story about a group of cuddly, fuzzy bears attempting one last heist.  Their target: bottles of honey… you can only imagine how this will all go down. Check out the video, and salivate over this track and their upcoming EP to be released this fall. In coming weeks, Kingsley Flood plays some of its biggest shows…

New Music | Kingsley Flood – I Don’t Wanna Go Home

Kingsley Flood – I Don’t Wanna Go Home NPR got the honors of releasing Boston’s Kingsley Flood’s brand new single, I Don’t Wanna Go Home. This song shows them stretching the genre of Americana with blues, horns & rock elements Kingsley Flood and redefining everything you’ve heard from them. If you haven’t seen them live, this song gives a better representation of how their live shows play out. A raucous head bobbing, foot stomping good time that makes you dance, holler at the top of your lungs like the protagonist in the song “I Don’t Wanna Go Home.” More Kingsley…

Show | The Acre CD Release tonight at TT the Bears

The Acre – Guilty Soul Boston’s The Acre is set to release their album Circa Trova tonight at TT the Bears place in Cambridge.  The sophomore album, was recorded with help from Chris McLaughlin (Aberdeen City, Mean Creek, Township).  With influences like Wilco, Bon Iver and Low Anthem in their minds they’ve created an album that merges those influences with their own style. The music is hilariously defined as ‘Amerigaze.’ A sort of Americana with the sleepy dreamy style of shoe gaze that creates this entrancing lush atmosphere that is absolutely gorgeous.  This is done so well in songs in…

Video | Kingsley Flood – Mannequin Man (Live)

I always jump at the chance to see new stuff from Kingsley Flood, one of my favorite bands here in Boston. I recently got the pleasure of seeing them play before they headed out for South By Southwest.  Above is their live video for rockin’ song Mannequin Man. For those of you at South By Southwest, I highly recommend you take in one of their live performances.  These guys are a great band, they are a lot of fun, and a treat to have here in Boston because we get to see them so often. New Video / Dates | Kingsley Flood

Kingsley Flood “Quiet Quiet Ground” from Lunar Pictures LLC on Vimeo. Check out Kingsley Flood, and their brand new video shot for their upcoming CMJ showcase, Oct. 22.  Using every cliché in the book, chain linked fence, railroad tracks, & brick walls, may be passé but their music speaks for itself. They play americana folk music in a completely different way.  They fill a room with energy like a punk show, but play with the rootsy, folk sound that superimposes you into a country kind of feel. They have a fantastic debut album entitled, Dust Windows, which can be streamed on…

Kingsley Flood – Kitchen Sessions

Cul De Sac Cathedral Walls Roll of the Dice Last night I spent an evening with boston band Kingsley Flood, for a live recording session with Kitchen Sessions.  The venue for recording is really unique, stepping out on to a flat roof up in the trees, overlooking the city was really captivating. But the magic truly happens when this band starts playing.  With their true ‘Americana’ sound, they capture the spirit of roots music formed and merged from folk country, rock & roll and blues styles. Don’t forget to check back Kitchen Sessions for the live video recording. Check out…
