Yesterday, Blake Sennett (Rilo Kiley), made his way back into music with his band The Elected. He had been previously writing and directing a film and we all thought his music career was over. The new album that was recorded during his break from music is titled ‘Bury Me In My Rings’ and it released yesterday on Vagrant Records. Its a wonderful indie pop album that shimmers with jangly guitars, subtle organs. For fans of Rilo Kiley, I wouldn’t doubt you’ll enjoy this album; its a very similar sound and gives a good idea of how much of a creative force Sennett is.

As a big fan of Rilo Kiley, this album jumped out at me. Its instantly similar, and only lacks Jenny Lewis, which I don’t think is an awful thing. The album is well worth listening, and I’ve been loving it since I pressed play.
