Tonight | Cults at Brighton Music Hall
Sixties dance pop duo Cults returns to Brighton Music Hall tonight to play their first show since dropping their debut album. Cults were last in town in early April on their first headlining show, but only played a
30-minute set. So I’m expecting this second time around, especially after the release of their new album, to be a bit more lengthy and put together. Though despite last time’s short set, this band is amazing live. It’s one thing to listen to the mysterious Cults at home or on an iPod, but seeing Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion breathe life to the sugary-sweet, addictive 60s pop is well worth it.
San Diego band Writer will start off the night and Follin’s brother’s band Guards will follow shortly after. Side note, props to Cults for creating a lineup featuring bands who all have relatively difficult-to-look-up band names. Try Google searching Cults, Guards or Writer. Yeah, thought so.
Doors open at 8, show starts at 9. Tickets are $15.
