The Barr Brothers, a quartet from Montreal, are playing at the Lizard Lounge tonight. Fronted by Brad Barr and his brother Andrew Barr, their meandering folk sound is aided by Sarah Page’s harp and Andres Vial who plays keyboards and bass.

The stories of how the brothers ended up in Montreal and how they met harpist Page are as entertaining as their thoughtful songs. For Brad Barr, Montreal had an affect on him. Though originally from Providence, RI, and having lived in Boston, the brothers were traveling with their first band, The Slip, when the club they were playing in caught on fire. Normally this is a bad sign. But not for The Barr Brothers. A year later, Barr and his brother were living in Montreal.
