I am super happy to share with you fine folks the great new song,”Asphalt Ocean,” from San Antonio, TX band The Mites. It is the title-track from their third EP which will be released as a 7″ via Painter Man Records in the near future.
The influences of nineties rockers like Juliana Hatfield and Lush are present in the track’s hard driving guitar chords and shoegaze vocals. With that said, “Asphalt Ocean,” isn’t simply a throwback to that early sound that dominated MTV’s 120 Minutes back in the day. After listening to their first two EPs (you can listen to/buy them in the Bandcamp link below) it’s clear that the band have captured the essence of that dreamy, power-pop era and are determined to keep the fuzzed-out fires burning for years to come.
