Video | Foxtails Brigade – We Are Not Ourselves

Oakland-based band Foxtails Brigade have a new spooky video directed by the band’s drummer, Dominic Mercurio, for the excellent single, “We Are Not Ourselves,” off their self-tilted album which was released on April 8th via OIM Records. The Californian quintet are becoming well known (and well loved) for their unique brand of orchestral-indie rock, along with their ability to create a Vincent Price meets Tim Burton world of chilling horror and bloodcurdling macabre with each new video.

Take a look at the eerie, body-snatching fun above…if you dare! It’s OK if you need to watch with your hands covering your eyes. Also be sure to check out the other amazing video directed by Mercurio for “Far Away and Long Ago” to keep those goosebumps going.

New Music | Foxtails Brigade – Nun But The Lost

Far away and long ago (July of 2015 to be exact) we were delighted to share a spectacular video from Californian quintet Foxtails Brigade to announce their upcoming self-titled album. At that time there was no set release date, but that has changed with the new year. Foxtails Brigade, the band’s third LP, will be available on April 8th via OIM Records and we were sent the fantastic new single, “Nun But The Lost,” along with the announcement.

The track spins and swirls in so many different directions there is entirely no point to try and nail it down to any specific type of sound or style. Lead singer and guitarist Laura Weinbach’s vocals dance around a dizzying array of horns, strings, crashing cymbals, and chirping birds. The tempo changes with almost every verse and repeated plays will be necessary to catch it all. “Nun But The Lost” is everything AND the kitchen sink!

New Music | Foxtails Brigade – Far Away and Long Ago

The members of San Francisco band Foxtails Brigrade are readying the release of their third album and have recently signed with Oakland-based label OIM records. What better way is there to celebrate the happy tidings than to release a spectacular new single and wonderfully creepy accompanying video? After listening to the song, and watching the video a few times, the answer is no other way. Featuring beautifully arranged strings, which waltz around lead singer Laura Weinbach’s haunting voice, the imagery in the video perfectly blends the band’s orchestral sound with the eerie visions created by Dominic Mercurio, drummer for the band and director of the nightmare.…
