Mixtape | August 2018

I’m super late (vacation, and some technical issues) to getting this to ya’ll but hey music is music. August was a pretty great month for new music, with new music from some of our favorites like Aaron Lee Tasjan, Ron Gallo and Tallest Man on Earth. But we saw and heard great tunes from all over. Please do let us know if we’ve missed any songs that you are loving right now.

Top 50 Albums of 2011 30-26

We all love lists, and we all love sarcasm.  Though, I think its important to reflect upon the last year of music, I’m going to do so through the use of a list.  It was a fantastic year full of awesome albums, and I’m going to count down a bunch of my favorites, and give you something to listen to while reading. 30. New Music | White Denim – Hot Thought

White Denim – Hot Thought

I’ve posted a bunch of tracks from Austin’s White Denim, earlier this year when they were releasing their fantastic album ‘D’. Their blend of experimental psych / rock has always kept me super interested and when I got this new track from them, I sort of expected the same thing. What I got was actually a little different, and not in bad way at all. Its a funky, bluesy track that sounds more like it could come from a Mayer Hawthorne cut. I find these guys to be extremely exciting, and the great news is this is cut straight out of a new EP titled Takes Place in your Workspace which is out Oct 25 on Downtown Records. Another fun morsel, is they are playing a show here in boston with one of my favorite rock bands out there Manchester Orchestra.

Grab their fantastic album D

Check these guys out if you already haven’t:

New Music | White Denim – Anvil Everything

Anvil Everything I posted a new White Denim track earlier this week and found another one available from their upcoming album ‘D.’  White Denim will release a new album on May 24th.  It’s an experimental psych/rock track with some pretty cool explorative guitar riffs. Web | Facebook | Myspace
