Join me as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop! Born fifty years ago on this date (August 11th, 1973) at a back to school jam thrown by DJ Kool Herc and his sister Cynthia in the “Rec Room” at 1520 Sedgwick Ave. Kicking off the show with a set of some of the most important funk songs that became the samples used in so many songs. We’ll then take a journey through the decades and hear some of the best of the best hip-hop ever created.
